i'd prefer not to rant...

...but the anger that rises inside my body just may take over and flow right out of my fingertips, onto the keyboard, through the internet, out of the computer screen and into your retinas and corneas and any other part of your eyeball that allows you to read. i don't like to get political, but i just can't seem to wrap my mind around the fact that people are even considering voting "yes" on proposition 8. why should some be denied the same rights as others? could you imagine if you didn't have the option to be with the person you love with your whole heart? it would kill you, and it kills me to think that people are trying to take that away from some of my dearest, most fantastic, and most genuine friends.

i know what i have said is nothing new, provocative, or articulate. i could write pages upon pages of reasons as to why i feel the way i do about this "issue" (even though it shouldn't be one). i just hope the right decision is made, please vote no on 8. to quote my best friend who said to a recently engaged couple who is promoting yes on 8: "congratulations on being engaged. maybe i will be too one day. we've been together 3 years. how long have you been with your fiancé?"
ciao
