brooklyn living

finally moved into the greenpoint abode. here's some pics to appease your appetites (by request of my hon-gray san fran lover/bff kelly). a little virtual tour, you check out the digs and partake in a ancient greek peep-show. getting our cheap thrills from cardboard box furniture, wine, and scandalous playing cards. it's a beautiful thing.

"songs are as sad as the listener"

just finished reading another jonathan safran foer novel. so beautifully sad and lovely. highly recommended. here's some of my favorite excerpts from it, although three sentences can hardly do justice.
"she wants to know if i love her, that's all anyone wants from anyone else, not love itself but the knowledge that love is there, like new batteries in the flashlight in the emergency kit in the hall closet"
"it's the tragedy of loving, you can't love anything more than something you miss"

"i felt suddenly shy. i was not used to shy. i was used to shame. shyness is when you turn your head away from something you want. shame is when you turn your head away from something you do not want."

passion pit

is the current listen. something to get your stride moving swiftly down the street. even in the rain.

11222

la porta mia, on franklin street
11222. the zip code for my new home in brooklyn, specifically greenpoint. i am thrilled that the franklin-street-strut will be my new turf-to-trot. it's really quite picturesque and i've already found a place that serves a fierce double americano and another that offers a cheap but lovely malbec.
we have a 3rd floor view, aka the penthaus
franklin looking to the south
oh, yes, how could i forget to mention... this is the view from the park/playground around the corner from my apartment. no big deal.
hello empire state and chrysler building. looking forward to greeting you routinely
radical face welcome home, son (thank you ryan) this song is the perfect balance of sadness and joy for me. it is so beautiful that i want to listen to it over and over again, even though it makes me want to cry.
i think i'm going to love it here.
