october thirtieth, vermont day 1

a trip that consisted of sleeping in, leisurely brunches, frolicking with horses, frolicking in graveyards, apple cider, apple cider donuts, excessive amounts of photos, rustic garments, lace up boots, costume changes, hay lofts with impeccable lighting, sound of music reenacting, wooded walks, and lots red wine (to be expected). life on the back 40, how enchanting.

this is what summer looks like (a roundup)

alternating between brooklyn birthday backyards, george washington bridge vantage points, recommended reading (not that i embarked on the moral compass, but it probably wouldn't be such a bad idea), photogenic felines and charismatic canines is how i wrap up the sweltering season.
i swear, at least i hope, that someday i will grow out of my persistent penchant for alliteration (ah, you see! i bring it upon myself, it rears it's ugly head directly from my fingertips and into the caption)

meow

princess sam, photo by kelly
i adore everything about this; the yellow and gold hues, the grain (almost fooled me into thinking it was dug up from the 70's), the stillness, the lack of eye-contact, etc. but mostly the simultaneous strangeness and normality of the photo is what pleases me so.

...not to mention it provides a segue for sharing this (as you know how i love my vegetarian themed reading)

the start of something great

a brooklyn summer. beach house concert (that alex scally is a dream), the national semi-secret show at other music (thanks justin for that areal shot, oh, and not to mention the escort service), the dr. dog show, nights out on the town, sunsets on roofs, warm air on the skin, and most importantly the best company to share it with. this sweet sweet burrough is going to bring the heat.
